It was Christmas morning when 6 year old Osinachi was exposed to our raunchy culture for the first time. Dressed in a mini skirt, skimpy shirt, fishnet leggings, platform heels and dowsed in heavy makeup, Sinach wasn’t sure what she looked like ; A baby or some grown woman seeking attention. She jumped around her mirror, striking few poses she had seen her aunties do: mouth pout, hands akimbo, the boss lady pose, she tried them all.
“Do you like your look baby?” Her mom asked with a smile from the other side of the living room.
Sinach thought for a moment “Yes! I love her! She’s so pwitty .”
“But who is she momma? She looks almost like my face but doesn’t really look like me”
Dressed to church like she just walked out of a nightclub became the new norm for her or rather would become the new norm for her if no one teaches her the joys and freedom of being a Christian baby before becoming a ‘boss lady”
At least, she had asked the question all babies overloaded with aunty syndrome would have asked too if they had the speech ability.
You are growing up in a country where sexualized dolls, images, movies, music and fashion are the new norm. Just last year “2018” we witnessed a huge invasion of the sex doll which raided the city; an alternative or rather 4G upgrade of masturbation and loose fornication I guess. You live in a time period that many refer to as a “porn-positive” or “sex-positive” culture.
If you’re under the age of 25, our raunchy culture is totally normal for you; you don’t know any different.
Opening up your boom player library and seeing album covers featuring half naked female artists isn’t shocking to you. Walking into a makeup store and being bombarded by large posters of sexualized women is normal. Checking out at the shopping malls and seeing magazines titled, “Best Sex Ever,” and “Sexiest Fashion” doesn’t even faze you.
Sadly, this normal everyday reality isn’t the way it has always been.
“Lord, help me, I know I got a big mouth”
Each time I come across advertisement centered on tightening of the “v” area and enlargement of the breast and buttocks, and the positive response given to it. (Hope I am not too direct) My heart is pained at such level of deceit and height of inferiority complex hanging over my ladies.
You lost your chastity in ignorance, so what? Or you think you can’t obtain God’s forgiveness and probably a good man again. Any man that approaches you based on your virginity alone isn’t worth having around and that man that rejects you because you lost it should be quickly discarded, after all it wasn’t his blood that was shed on Calvary.
My dear gorgeous pulchritudinous girl, what is wrong with your back and front side that you see a need to harm yourself in the name of enlargement. Wait; don’t tell me it’s because of him? Hmmm, I really smile at your ignorance of how beautiful you looked in that outfit you wore this morning.
Not too long ago the majority of women actually valued themselves as more than a sexual object. They despised pornography and viewed their intimate body parts as private property. Little girls played with baby dolls and young women went on “dates” with real gentlemen and no strings attached.
Without even realizing it, you are living in a society that has totally and completely distorted female sexuality.
What is normal today is NOT what God had in mind for you.
Author Carolyn McCulley says, “We live in a culture of hyper aggressive female sexuality, which is arguably the worst ever in recorded history.”
I write this for you because my heart breaks for the hundreds of Christian girls I see buying into the lies of our raunchy culture. Chances are, you‘re probably buying into a few lies yourself.
SOME LIES YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD
Lie no 1
A liberated girl is a raunchy girl; Over the past few years the word raunchy has become synonymous with the word freedom. Girls are taught that being a “free female” means embracing your sexuality to its maximum use. It’s a live-life-to-the-fullest mentality without any limits. Whatever makes you feel sexy and hot is what you should do. Your body is your own, use it how you want. This is the first major lie of our raunchy culture. The slogan over the media has to be “your body is your femininity, your nudity is yours, own it and flaunt it, kill them all” am confused please; who is being led to these altar of sacrifice exactly?
A model producer said to a Christian wannabe model expressly:
” for you to become a strong and valuable woman, loud and powerful, you must be able to strip before the camera”
She carried her bag and knew instantly
“this isn’t my calling”
1 Corinthians 6:19
Daily I see our young girls, most painfully single Christian girls alike walking down this path of “shaking what your mama gave you” I laugh because it’s quite ambiguous to say I should shake what my mama gave me.
I am pretty sure my mama didn’t give me my physical endowments, she birthed me but imparted virtues into me and that’s what I am shaking why is it that the only thing you shake and enhance is the “bottom power”
What exactly are you shaking?
I am an advocate for gorgeousness but definitely not one for flaunting what should be seen by one man alone, what should be packaged is now displayed before the market rack of the public eyes.
Lie no 2
Sex before marriage is empowering: Teen girls used to be taught abstinence as a normal way of life prior to marriage. Now, sex before marriage is promoted as the normal and empowering thing for girls to do on all mainstream media. Instead of abstinence you’re taught “safe sex.” The new tagline for Nigerian teens is “have fun and be smart.” Purity is considered a thing of the past”
Well? This is my clap back world, purity can never be outdated. Boom I just dropped that, sue me to court then. Sis, you are not an object, the society has tried in many ways to objectify the femininity of both teen and older ladies, seeing them in light of “sexual appeasement to the gods of the bodily nature of lust” and when she says no? its trouble
I stand corrected but whatever you believe you got from your mama and you desire to shake should be shaken inside the other room after you have said “I do”
Any monkey in the dark shadows style you have to display would be joyfully applauded by all.
Don’t sell your femininity cheap to an “uncircumcised” generation of men who have no respect for your purity.
“Sis he doesn’t want to continue because of your term and conditions?
“congrats, you just saved yourself years of heartache”
You don’t even know what the good lord has done for you; you need to go for thanksgiving next Sunday.
“Good riddance to bad rubbish” if you ask me
Excuse me sir if you are in a hurry, “carry out the necessary rites”
“Don’t open the parcel meant for Easter before the Easter celebration”
Lie no 3
There’s nothing wrong with pornography.
Like I mentioned earlier, women used to view the pornography industry as degrading. Now, some of the largest pornographic companies are operated by women. Mainstream society now teaches you that engaging in online sexual activities is normal and natural. That viewing the most intimate and private scenes of other people are even “educational.”
What God only intended for privacy between a husband and wife has been pushed onto the public stage and applauded.
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 1 cor 6:18
Lie no 4
Modesty is a sign of being ashamed of your body
Have you ever tried challenging the so called booty shakers over your dressing? You instantly become the judgmental Christian
People everywhere misquoting the scripture:
“Judge not that ye be not judged”
Young woman, you seem so comfortable in exposing your assets, why do you feel uncomfortable or mock I when I decide to cover my assets, we both made different choices and I think I made a better choice than you did girl.
The most common and noticeable way our raunchy culture has affected girls is the way they dress. Instead of protecting and saving your most intimate parts for your husband and yourself, the fashion industry has taught you to “flaunt what you’ve got.” Wearing cut off shorts the size of underwear and skimpy see-through shirts is considered fashionable and sexy.
Oh – and if you dare to treasure your intimate parts by dressing modestly they might label you as being “ashamed and embarrassed” of your body. Ridiculous lies Oh! They said your display of nudity is your courage “the bottom power”
How many woman of influence, movers and shakers of nations, financial powerhouses, educational tigers, and spiritual power shakers have you seen their nudity on display?
God’s ideas for you are a thousand times better than our raunchy culture’s.
Our raunchy culture has zero problems expressing their opinions of how you should view your body and your sexuality. Our society is turning its back on God and this is just one more way we’re expressing our rebellion against His design.
They’ve decided to worship the creature instead of the Creator.
As a Christian girl you need to recognize where our society has gone wrong and say NO to the lies it offers. You must look to God’s Word as your rock of truth and align every choice, every action and every thought according to His design.
You need to link arms with your sisters-in-Christ and stand strong together against this tidal wave of an enticing, but false version, of sex
I am praying for you in hope that you say no to these lies
Don’t allow the media give you a definition of what your femininity is, she who values her femininity should even in all respect to her body, cover it and parcel it up.
Every morning you wake up, look at the mirror and tell yourself boldly “I am beautiful”, oh! Wait, you want to hear people call you “sexy” right? Then say it to yourself, some that call you that only dream of getting under your skirt after all.
Compliments and all, I love them, but your first fan is you, your most enjoyed compliment comes from you. Get rid of that ugly feeling.
Let me loud it again:
You are beautiful, you are smart, you are gorgeous and at the right time, your right man would show up before the door with a rose in his hand and a ring in the other and respectfully walk down this lane of purity with you.
Keep dancing with God and he will let the perfect man cut in.
“You are a woman, you define femininity, it is who you are
I am praying for you while hoping you look deep inside yourself and see your through beauty through the lens of God
